About us
Initiative für Hochbegabung e.V. was founded in 2019 out of the wish of several people to accompany gifted children and young people on their way to adulthood. We have varied experience in working with and supporting gifted young people. This draws on parental knowledge as well as many years of tutoring experience and expertise.
We would like to offer a safe and protected space, a place where the thoughts of children and young people can wander freely across the room without encountering limits. The individuality of each person should be able to unfold and mature together with others.
We would also like to be available to parents as a point of contact, open up paths for the children's future and help the children and parents connect with one another.

FJ works in the advanced laboratory of the Physics master's programme at the University of Halle. He has also been working with gifted children and young people for almost a decade and teaches science courses and courses on astrophysics.
In the association, as chairperson, he is responsible for all legal matters as well as for any official representation of Initiative für Hochbegabung.
Sandra is a biology lab technician, veterinarian and primary school teacher with three gifted boys. She looked for meaningful activities for her children outside of school and found for them (among other places at InfHo): friends who think “the same way”; topics “that are finally really interesting” and hobbies “that no one there makes fun of” (her children's words).
Even though she doesn't feel able to offer courses herself, she nevertheless wants to support the association with her acquired know-how and with suitable course rooms and materials.
Patrick holds a diploma in physics and works as a software developer. After several years abroad, he was drawn back to Berlin in 2017, where he has since been involved in gifted education and support for refugees.
Patrick runs the science and programming courses.
Raphael has just completed his degree in social sciences at Humboldt University and, after parental leave, would like to work in the field of civic participation and the promotion of democracy.
Raphael has been offering role-playing games for gifted people for 7 years. What excites him most about the work is witnessing how the children develop and come to feel more comfortable and secure in their environment.
Michael studies public and non-profit management at HTW Berlin. He has now been working with gifted children for 4 years, teaching a wide variety of courses ranging from science to role-playing games to tabletop and cosplay.
From his own experience, Christoph knows that gifted children and young people don't always have it easy in their lives. At school one often has difficulties with clashing with others and struggling to make friends. The teachers, too, were not always thrilled when he asked curious questions. But fortunately that is over for him. Since completing his Abitur in summer 2020, he has been studying physics at the Free University of Berlin.
Because he received a lot of help and support from the people in this association, he now wants to pass on his experiences to others and help them get through difficult times too.
Roman is currently studying physics at the FU Berlin. He, too, as a gifted person, often didn't have it easy at school. His own experiences with extracurricular support from the age of 5 alongside other gifted people inspired him.
Since 2015 he has had his own experience looking after gifted children during the holidays. Since 2021, in addition to the holiday courses, he has been offering a regular online role-playing course. Besides role-playing games, his focus is on fantasy and mathematics.
